Wheaton is one of the prettiest Chicago western suburbs because of it’s tree-lined streets, the Historic District’s beautifully preserved homes, and well-maintained parks and public spaces. The historic downtown has dozens of charming shops and restaurants. During the summer, the Wheaton French Market is over-flowing with fresh local produce, herbs, and flowers.
The award-winning Park District operates over 50 parks, two outdoor swimming pools, and a state-of-the-art recreation center. The District also provides many youth sports and a preschool.
The 55-acre DuPage County Fairground, located on the west side of Wheaton, hosts events every weekend throughout the year. The annual DuPage County Fair is five days of rodeo events, 4-H competitions, and an exciting carnival.
